The TSA instructed WISN 12 Information that the passenger was unaware of the screening protocol and didn’t inform safety officers about her canine.
After an officer defined the correct course of and confirmed that she had disclosed she was touring with a pet to the airline, she drove to her doorstep.
TSA Nice Lakes confirmed the incident was an accident on social media.
“A canine was by accident x-rayed @MSN_Airport this week,” he tweeted.
“When touring with an animal, inform your airline and know its guidelines.
“On the checkpoint, take your pet out of the bag and ship all objects, together with the empty provider, to be examined within the machine.”
He then uploaded a video displaying “the suitable approach” to journey with pets.
If it hadn’t been for the stowaway’s x-ray alert officers, the cat would have been on a flight from New York to Florida.
